Data gathering instructions for middle school accounts

To set up your school's Scoir account, you must gather and submit specific data. Please follow the steps below to ensure a smooth process. Note that account setup cannot begin until all required data is submitted. If there’s any data you prefer not to import, please let us know which to exclude.

Step 1: Export data from your Student Information System (SIS)

  • Student Data (Grades 6-8): Export the student data for grades 6-8, or only the grades you plan to include in Scoir. Refer to the Student roster data requirements section below for details on required and optional data fields.
  • Staff Data: Export the relevant staff data. To understand which fields are required and optional, see the Staff data Requirements section below.

Step 2: Submit your data to Scoir

Send the exported data files to support@scoir.com. You can also share the data via a Google Drive link. If using Google Drive, please ensure that support@scoir.com has download access and email us to notify us that the data is shared. All data should be in Excel or .csv format. We do not support .numbers or .pdf files.

Optional step: Assigning counselors to students

If you would like Scoir to assign counselors to students during setup, please include the following in your staff data file:

  • A list of counselors with their email addresses in the staff data file
  • A roster of students with their assigned counselors in the student data file

Student roster data requirements (Student Information System)

Export a current student roster from your SIS. Each school’s SIS configuration may vary, so we don’t have a specific guide for this export. Please note that all bolded fields below are required for import. While the other fields are optional, the more information included, the more helpful Scoir will be to your team.  Please ensure all students are listed only one time and there are not multiple rows of the same student.  Additionally, each field should be in only one row, meaning that the address data should not be in an expandable row which is multiple lines. This type of format makes it difficult for import and can skew the data.

Phone Home (10 digit phone only are supported at this time)

Phone Mobile (10 digit phone only are supported at this time)

Please provide a list of the staff and counselors you want to be added to Scoir.

What happens next?

Once all requested files are submitted, the Scoir Support Team will review and process your data. If there are any discrepancies, we will contact you to resolve them. Your account will typically be ready within 5-7 business days after we receive all data. Once setup is complete, we will email you with the next steps.
