Cristina Hernandez Updated by Cristina Hernandez

This guide will walk you through viewing your students' My Colleges list in a convenient data table format. We’ll also explore the tools for customizing your view and provide an overview of what you’ll find in the table view, helping you compare colleges and make well-informed decisions.

Switching to the data table view

  1. Go to a student's profile, then select Colleges & Applications > My Colleges from the left-hand side menu
  2. Once on the My Colleges page, click the Table icon in the top right corner to switch to the data table view. To return to the column view, click the grid icon

What data is available to counselors?

In the data table view of My Colleges, you can see the schools on your student's college lists and their top choices, along with their status—whether they are suggested, following, applying, or applied—and their Acceptance Likelihood. This view offers comprehensive college data, making it easier to compare schools and support informed decision-making.

The College Details panel

Click the Preview button next to any college to open the College Details panel, which includes:

  • Application details: Information such as the application method and deadline
  • Admissions Intelligence: Includes Acceptance Likelihood controls (with options to edit hooks), personalized Predictive Chances for each application round, profile simulation tools, and Scattergram access
  • Application Document Status: Manage and track documents for the student
  • My College Checklist: A list of college-specific requirements that serves as a guide for the student's application
  • Activity log: A detailed, timestamped record of updates and actions

Toolbar overview

The toolbar above the data table offers several options to customize your experience.

1. Filters - Narrow down the colleges on the student’s list based on their status (suggested, following, applying, applied, or not interested).

2. Columns - Manage columns by adding, removing, or rearranging them using drag-and-drop. You can also adjust the column width as needed.

☝️You can also remove columns directly from the roster by clicking the three-dot icon next to the column header and selecting Remove.

Pinning Columns: Pin columns to keep them visible and locked, ensuring key information remains in view while you scroll horizontally.

  1. Click the three-dot icon next to the column header you want to pin (the Name column is pinned by default).
  2. Choose either Pin left or Pin right:
    1. Pin left: Moves the column to the far left and locks it in place. Additional columns pinned to the left will appear next to the first pinned column.
    2. Pin right: Moves the column to the far right and locks it in place. Additional columns pinned to the right will appear next to the first pinned column.

3. Views - A "View" is a way to save your preferred table settings, including filters, sorting, and columns, so you can easily return to them.

We’ve provided four premade views:

  • Overview: Colleges in the Following, Applying, and Applied lists.
  • Following: Colleges the student is following.
  • Suggestions: Colleges suggested for the student.
  • Applications: Colleges in the Applying and Applied lists.

While these premade views can't be edited, you can save changes as a new View or update one of your existing custom Views. Set your favorite View as the default anytime.

Remember:

  • You can set a default View at any time
  • Filters, columns, and sorting are saved in your Views
  • Changes to Views are visible to everyone at your school
  • You can delete custom Views, but not the standard ones

4. Export - Download the table as a PDF or CSV file, with the option to choose which fields to include. See an example here.

5. Add College - Search for and suggest colleges or add them to your student’s Applying or Applied lists. You can also explore colleges on behalf of the student using the Search Colleges for Student option.

6. Column/Table View Toggle - Switch between list and table views of My Colleges.

Search & Balanced List Score

Search bar and list score in counselor table view of my colleges

Use the search bar to quickly locate colleges in a student's list.

The Balanced List Score is a personalized grade, calculated by evaluating the student's college list against criteria set by the high school. It ensures a well-balanced mix of Reach, Level, and Likely schools. Click the score to open a panel with more details.
