Cristina Hernandez Updated by Cristina Hernandez

This guide will show you how to view your My Colleges list in a table format. We’ll also go over how to customize your view and give you a quick overview of what’s in the table, so you can easily compare colleges and make informed decisions.

Switching to the data table view

  1. From the main navigation bar, click My Colleges
  2. On the My Colleges page, click the Table icon in the top right corner to switch to the data table view. Click the Grid icon to return to the column view

What data is available to students?

In the table view of My Colleges, you’ll see the colleges on your list, their status (suggested, following, applying, or applied), your Acceptance Likelihood if it’s been set, and other college information to help you compare schools.

Hover over a college name in the table and click Preview to open the College Details Panel, where you'll find essential information and tools to guide you through your application process. Discover more about the College Details Panel

 Toolbar overview

The toolbar above the data table offers several options to customize your experience.

My Colleges table view toolbar

1. Application Documents - If your high school uses Scoir to request recommendation letters and your account is correctly linked, you'll see the Applications Document button next to the search bar.

If your school does not use Scoir for recommendation requests, you'll instead see a Documents button. Use this to designate a school official who will provide supporting materials for your applications on Scoir.

2. Filters - Narrow down the colleges on your list based on their status (suggested, following, applying, applied, or not interested).

3. Columns - The Column Management panel allows you to customize your table view by adding, removing, or reordering columns to simplify your school comparisons. You can add or remove all columns at once and click Done when you're finished.

☝️You can also remove columns directly from the roster by clicking the three-dot icon next to the column header and selecting Remove.

Pinning Columns: Pin columns to keep them visible and locked, ensuring key information remains in view while you scroll horizontally.

  1. Click the three-dot icon next to the column header you want to pin (the Name column is pinned by default).
  2. Choose either Pin left or Pin right:
    1. Pin left: Moves the column to the far left and locks it in place. Additional columns pinned to the left will appear next to the first pinned column.
    2. Pin right: Moves the column to the far right and locks it in place. Additional columns pinned to the right will appear next to the first pinned column.

4. Views - A "View" is a way to save your preferred table settings, including filters, sorting, and columns, so you can easily return to them. Learn how to create and manage Views

We’ve provided four standard views:

  • Overview: Colleges in your Suggested, Following, Applying, and Applied lists
  • Following: Colleges you’re following
  • Suggestions: Colleges suggested to you.
  • Applications: Colleges you're applying to or have already applied to

5. Export - Download your college list as a PDF or CSV file, with the option to choose which fields to include. See an example here

6. +Add College - Search for colleges to add to your Following, Applying or Applied lists

7. Column/Table View Toggle - Switch between list and table views of My Colleges

Search, Top Choices, and Balanced List Score

8. Search - Use the search bar to quickly find colleges in your list.

9. Top Choices - Top Choices lets you create a personal list of your favorite colleges within your My Colleges List. Use the arrows to arrange schools into your top choices, and click Done to finalize your selections. After setting your Top Choices, you can add the 'Top Choices' column to see them in the table.

10. Balanced List Score - If your school has made it available, you’ll see a score for your college list that reflects how well-balanced it is. Click on the List Score to view a detailed overview and get suggestions for improvement. Learn more about the Balanced List Score

If the score overview shows that some colleges are missing an Acceptance Likelihood, you can work with your counselor to add them or assign them manually if your school allows it.
