For Counselors/Teachers: Changing your email address

Customer Support Updated by Customer Support

Counselors and teachers can update their own email address in Scoir by adding a new email as an alternate, verifying it, and then setting it as the primary.

Keep in mind: Counselors cannot change email addresses on behalf of other users. Each person must update their own.

Here’s how to make the change:

  1. Click your name in the top right corner of Scoir and select Personal Profile from the dropdown.
  2. On your profile page, click Account Settings from the menu on the left.
  3. In the Account Email section, click + Add Alternate Email.
  1. Enter the new email address you'd like to use, then click the Save icon (the little blue floppy disk).
  1. You’ll now see the new email marked as "awaiting validation." Click Done to exit.
  1. Before you verify your new email, here’s an important step:
    • If you're a user at only one high school, log out of Scoir completely and make sure no Scoir tabs are open in your browser.
    • If you’re connected to multiple high schools, stay logged in to just one of them and keep that Scoir tab open. This ensures Scoir knows which high school to associate with your account.
Then, check your inbox for a verification email from Scoir and click the orange button inside to verify your new email. If you had any extra Scoir tabs open, you might run into an error.
Didn’t get the email? Check your spam folder or go back and resend it.
  2. Once verification is successful, you’ll be redirected back into Scoir and see a confirmation message.
  3. Return to Account Settings, and click Make Primary next to your new email
  1. (Optional) Click the pencil icon in the top right of the Account Email section to remove your old email.
