  1. If you’re looking for options for the student, click Search colleges for student (e.g., "Search for Colleges for Aaron") in the dialog box. Use the filters to find colleges and make suggestions. Once you're done, you can return to My Colleges.

Adding a college to "Applying" or "Applied"

When adding a college to either the Applying or Applied list, you’ll need to provide additional details, such as:

  • Application method
  • First-year deadline the student is applying to
  • Intended Major (if applicable)

Timing Consideration:

Starting July 1, before the student's Senior year, Scoir will automatically consider them to be in their final year of high school.

If you mark colleges as Applying or Applied before their Senior year or before the application cycle opens on August 1, you’ll be asked to specify the application cycle:

Key information for applications

Once the application cycle begins on August 1 of Senior year:

  • You or the student can choose the application method, round, and type.
  • If using an application method outside of Scoir, you'll need to enter the student’s email associated with the application account to ensure document matching.

  • For Common App users, please enter the student's Common App ID (CAID)—an 8-digit numeric code—to assist with document matching

As you add colleges to the student’s list, their Balanced List Score may adjust based on the mix of reach, level, and likely colleges.
