Step 1: Preparing Slate for Scoir Documents and Record Creation

Scoir and Technolutions℠ have preconfigured Source Format and Scoir User templates that can easily be added in your instance of Slate. Follow the steps below to add the required ScoirMaterials source format and Scoir Service Account in Slate.

Adding the Scoir Service Account
  1. In your Slate instance, go to the Slate Template Library, in the Configurations section of Slate.
  2. Expand the Users section of the Slate Template Library and locate the Scoir Service Account. Click Add to add the service account to your Slate instance.
  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Add here as well to confirm adding the Scoir Service Account.
The Scoir Service Account has now been added to your Slate instance. Next, you will need to add the ScoirMaterials Source Format.

Adding the ScoirMaterials Source Format
If you already have a DIP Import created for Scoir, you will also need to inactivate the existing Source Format prior to using this standardized integration.
  1. Return to the Database screen in Slate. Then, go to the Source Format Library, in the Import and Data Processing section.
  2. Locate the ScoirMaterials Source format, and click Add to add it to your Slate instance.
The Scoir CSV has been depreciated, and is no longer required. You will only need to add the ScoirMaterials Source Format.
  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Add again to confirm adding the ScoirMaterials Source Format.
You have now added the ScoirMaterials Source format to your Slate instance. Next, we are going to make some selections in the ScoirMaterials configuration.
  4. Return to the Database screen in Slate, and open the Source Formats page, also found in the Import and Data Processing section.
  5. On the Source Formats page, click on the row containing the ScoirMaterials Source Format to access it.
  6. On the ScoirMaterials screen, click the Edit button at the top right corner.
  7. There are two items to adjust on the Edit screen.

First, on the General tab, set the Remap Active item to Active.
  8. Then, set Dedupe Records to Dedupe Records Within Source on First + Last + Email + Birthdate. This will help eliminate the creation of duplicate student records.
  9. Click Save at the bottom left corner to save your changes.

You have now added the two necessary items required for your Slate integration with Scoir, and are now ready to connect your Slate instance with Scoir. Use the link below to continue to Part 2: Connecting Slate with Scoir.
