Step 1: Prepare Slate for Scoir Documents and Record Creation

Scoir and Technolutions℠ have preconfigured Source Format and Scoir User templates that can easily be added in your instance of Slate. Follow the steps below to add the required ScoirMaterials source format and Scoir Service Account in Slate.

Add the Scoir Service Account

  1. In your Slate instance, navigate to the Slate Template Library located in the Configurations section
  2. In the Slate Template Library, expand the Users section and find the Scoir Service Account. Click Add to include the service account in your Slate instance
  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Add again to confirm the addition of the Scoir Service Account
The Scoir Service Account has been successfully added to your Slate instance. Next, you’ll need to add the ScoirMaterials Source Format.

Add the ScoirMaterials Source Format

If you already have a DIP Import created for Scoir, you’ll need to inactivate the existing Source Format before using this standardized integration
  1. Return to the Database screen in Slate, then go to the Source Format Library within the Import and Data Processing section
  2. Find the ScoirMaterials Source Format and click Add to include it in your Slate instance
The Scoir CSV has been depreciated, and is no longer required. You will only need to add the ScoirMaterials Source Format.
  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Add again to confirm the addition of the ScoirMaterials Source Format
You have successfully added the ScoirMaterials Source Format to your Slate instance. Now, let’s move on to making some selections in the ScoirMaterials configuration.
  4. Go back to the Database screen in Slate and open the Source Formats page, which can also be found in the Import and Data Processing section
  5. On the Source Formats page, click the row for the ScoirMaterials Source Format to access its details
  6. On the ScoirMaterials screen, click the Edit button located in the top right corner
  7. On the Edit screen, you will need to adjust two items:
    1. First, navigate to the General tab and set the Remap Active item to Active
    2. Next, set Dedupe Records to Dedupe Records Within Source on First + Last + Email + Birthdate. This will help prevent the creation of duplicate student records
  8. Click Save in the bottom left corner to apply your changes

You’ve successfully added the two necessary items for your Slate integration with Scoir! You’re now ready to connect your Slate instance with Scoir. Continue to Part 2: Connecting Slate with Scoir.
