For Parents & Guardians: Getting to Know Your Dashboard

Cristina Hernandez Updated by Cristina Hernandez

Welcome to Scoir! As a parent or guardian, you have your own Dashboard to help you support your student’s college and career planning journey.

Assignments

Located front and center, this section helps you keep track of your Assignments. Check what’s on your list, mark items complete, and use the Show archived toggle to review what you’ve already finished.

No assignments at the moment? That means you’re all caught up! Take this time to explore colleges, careers, or events together with your student.

Messages & Your Student’s College List

Over on the right side of your dashboard, you’ll find:

  • College Messages: If colleges share updates or information relevant to parents, you’ll see them here.
  • My Student(s) section: If your student has connected with you in Scoir, you’ll see their name, graduation year, and links to their College List and Suggested Matches.

Search & Menu Bar

Search Bar: Quickly search for colleges, resources, or anything else in Scoir.
Home: Brings you back to this dashboard.
Discover: Find colleges and careers aligned with both your interests and your student’s. Learn more >
Inbox: Check all your messages.
Me: Manage your profile and quickly jump to a few other key areas in Scoir.
Cost Calculator: Get estimates of college costs based on the information you provide, so you can better understand potential expenses. Learn more >

Not linked to a school or student in Scoir?

You won’t see any college info until you’re linked to your student.
You can invite your student to link with you right from your Dashboard.

Once both accounts are linked, you’ll see your student’s College List and Suggested Matches—even if their school doesn’t use Scoir.

You won’t see assignments from the school until you’re linked to your  student and their school.
You may still see general Assignments suggested by Scoir, but school-specific tasks won’t appear unless their school uses Scoir and you’re connected

If their school does use Scoir and you’re still missing features, follow these steps to get connected or reach out to their counselor for help.
